ANY QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, a damaged retina can often be repaired by an eye doctor. While the patient's vision may not be fully restored, retinal restoration can help to prevent additional vision loss and stabilise vision. A retinal tear or hole can be repaired using laser surgery. A laser is used to heat microscopic pinpoints on the retina by your surgeon. Scarring results, which typically binds (welds) the retina to the underlying tissue. When a fresh retinal tear is treated with a laser right away, the chances of it causing a retinal detachment are reduced. Consult with the khatib Eye clinic Team.

The retina, which lines the inside of the eye, is a light-sensitive tissue. When light enters the eye, it concentrates on the retina, resulting in pictures. The ensuing light signals are subsequently sent to the brain via the optic nerve from this light-sensitive tissue. This is the most fundamental vision pathway. Your brain will not receive any messages regarding what you're seeing if you don't have a retina. Vision loss and eventual blindness can occur if the retina is injured or deteriorated. Colour blindness impairs one's capacity to discern between different colours. This is most common between greens and reds, but it can also happen with blues. Colour blindness is a hereditary disorder caused by a variation in how one or more light-sensitive cells in the retina of the eye respond to different hues. These cells, known as cones, detect light wavelengths and allow the retina to discriminate between hues. Consult with the khatib Eye clinic Team to know more.

An allergy is the most prevalent cause of irritated eyes. Exposure to pollen, animal fur, mould, dust mites, make-up, or eye drops can cause itchy eyes. The body reacts by releasing histamine, which causes the blood vessels in the eyes to widen and irritate the nerve endings, causing the eyes to moisten.
