Dr. Zain Khatib

Dr. Zain Khatib has completed his medical graduation from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM hospital, Mumbai. He completed MS Ophthalmology from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences where he independently performed a large number of ophthalmic surgeries through high volume charitable surgical camps.
Following his residency, he did his fellowship in Phacoemulsification at Laxmi Eye Institute, Mumbai where has been mentored by Dr Suhas Haldipurkar, the medical director. He has worked as clinical assistant to medical director at Laxmi Eye Institute for one and half years, where he has mastered the fine art of phacoemulsification and has learnt to handle complicated anterior segment surgical procedures. To further his experience in advanced anterior segment surgery, he has visited the Moran Eye Centre, Utah (USA) for a short-term fellowship where he has worked under the late Dr Alan Crandall. Dr Zain is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology(FICO, UK) and a Fellow of the All India Ophthalmology Collegium (FAICO). He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (MRCS).
Dr. Zain an excellent clinician and a skilled surgeon. His areas of expertise include Phacoemulsification cataract surgery, Premium IOLs including Multifocal and Toric IOLs, LASIK, Contoura LASIK, ICL surgery, Pupilloplasty and Iris Reconstruction, Secondary IOLs, IOL exchange, Glaucoma and Neuro-Ophthalmology. Besides being a good clinician, Dr Zain is very passionate about teaching and is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents and student all over the world through his Youtube channel. He has numerous publications to his name and has give talks at various national and international conferences, including winning multiple awards at international conferences. He has been honored with the prestigious "International Ophthalmic Hero" award twice in row by the All India Ophthalmological Society.
